Fix Out of Synch Subtitle

This solution is for the subtitle that get more and more out of synch as the movie progress. It’s not for the case where the scene such as interlude in the middle got cut off.

Play the video and pause after the out of synch subtitle appears.

Note

Some player can automatically reload the updated subtitle file, you don’t need to close and restart the player after editing the subtitle.

1. Open the subtitle in Aegisub.

2. File -> Export Subtitles.

3. Check “Transform Framerate”.

4. Choose “Output: Constant”, try 25.

5. Click Export, replace the subtitle file.

Resume the video and observe the subtitle. If the subtitle still didn’t match, repeat step 2 and try another value for step 4. Do that over and over again until the subtitle match.
